Private psychological services are not covered under Medicare. However, most supplementary health care plans, such as Blue Cross, SunLife, Canada Life, and Johnson Insurance, cover at least part of the cost for psychological services. We currently offer direct billing to several insurance plans, including Blue Cross, Canada Life, and St. Thomas University student plan.
We strongly encourage you to check with your insurance provider before booking an appointment. Questions you may wish to ask your provider:
You do not require a physician's referral to see a psychologist; however, your insurance company may require a referral to reimburse you.
Services provided by a psychologist can be claimed as a medical expense on your income taxes.
We accept cash, debit, credit, and e-transfer. Payment is due at the time of the session and you will be provided with a receipt for insurance reimbursement and/or income tax purposes.
